Objectives :
1.To secure new shipbuilding orders for Naval ships and Submarines.
2.To undertake new construction and retrofitting of Submarines.
3. To prepare a modernisation plan for construction of conventional and strategic submarines.

4. To augment technological capabilities in the area of Ship design and ship construction.

5. To train shipyard manpower on construction on Defence vessels.

6. To incorporate “Best Practices” in all key activities of the yard including Production, Planning, Purchase, Marketing, Human resources and Customer Satisfaction.

7. To workout cost effective funding arrangements for Shipbuilding and major Ship repair projects.

8. To implement e-procurement and e-payment.

9. To effect  economy in expenditure.
